Howdy! Welcome to my page!

My name is Miranda and I'm a current student at the University of Utah studying Parks, Recreation, and Tourism with a focus on outdoor recreation. However, being a student is not the sole defining part of me. On top of everything else that preoccupies my day, I am a photographer, trying to establish a name for myself. Currently, I work for Wasatch Magazine, a student-run outdoor-focused publication at the University of Utah.

My latest venture has been my role with the Women’s Outdoor Leadership Initiative (WOLI) as the Social Media Coordinator. On top of managing their Instagram, and creating a website for the student club, I organize events and trips, helping female-identifying and non-binary folks get outside and learn technical skills and leadership tools. This has been an incredibly rewarding opportunity that has built a community of women who look out for one another and have a passion for creating a more equitable and inclusive outdoor industry.

My personal relationship with photography started with taking portraits of my friends but as I recreated outside more, I fell in love with landscape shots. My current focus and passions are outdoor recreation and capturing action frames. From skiing to climbing, biking, hiking, and even rafting, bringing my camera along for the journey adds another level of excitement to the adventure.

Everyone has their own story to tell in this world. The challenge I give myself is to reach people who resonate with my work and expose those who aren’t as familiar with my current lifestyle. The most excitement I get through this art is observing other photographers in the outdoor industry and seeing the variability in creativity. This is what draws me to the medium, how ten photographers can take the same photo but it can be a drastically different final product depending on personality and vision.

Reach out if you have any feedback/want to work with me.

Hope to see you in the mountains!
